Chesney's Super Bowl Weekend
Kenny Chesney got his wish yesterday as the New Orleans Saints defeated the Indianapolis Colts in Super Bowl XLIV [44] with a final score of 31-17. Kenny's pick for the Super Bowl boiled down to Peyton versus Payton. The country superstar is close friends with both Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning and New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton, but prior to the game Chesney told NOLA.com that he would be rooting for New Orleans because they had never won it and it would mean so much to the Big Easy. He felt that in the wake of Katrina it would be the "shot that the town needs." Kenny explained, "I didn't have an allegiance to New Orleans growing up, but the more I've played there and been there and seen the spirit of the town… it's a great music town and a great sports town. It's a town that I've grown to love." Chesney knew Manning would be a force to be reckoned with because he knows the Colts quarterback is hungry and really wants to succeed. However, he added that Coach Payton’s idea of determination "goes beyond what some people's idea of working hard is." Kenny shared, "You add his personality on top of that, and his work ethic, and his spirit, and his love for the game, and love for life, I think that's what makes Sean who he is, and why players love him so much."
Kenny revealed to the New Orleans Times-Picayune, "The fact that this year has played out like it has is pretty special." Sunday, Chesney, along with his father and some of his friends, took in the event from his suite at Sun Life Stadium in South Florida. Afterwards, Kenny joined the Saints' private post-game party to perform at Coach Payton's request.
Carrie Lets Fan In On News First
A trembling 15-year-old fan was the first to find out: Carrie Underwood will be among the stars performing at this year's CMA Music Festival, June 10-13 in downtown Nashville. Carrie, who sang the National Anthem at the Super Bowl on Sunday, took time out of her rehearsal schedule to call 15-year-old Riley Ahlstrand with the news. Ahlstrand, an avid fan of the festival, was being interviewed by a news crew from Nashville's WKRN-TV when the reporter's phone rang and he handed it to the teen. The nearly speechless girl was informed by Underwood that she would be performing at the event this year. Carrie shared, "I always look forward to the excitement of CMA Music Festival. It's fans like Riley that make the week so much fun." With tears streaming down her face, Ahlstrand reacted, "This is the best thing that has ever happened. I couldn't have dreamed anything cooler than this!"
Riley came to the TV station's attention after she sent an email to the CMA that read: "My dream is to meet Carrie Underwood, and the CMA Music Festival is my absolute favorite thing. I want more than anything for Carrie Underwood to appear at CMA Music Festival this year."
Somebody's Watching You
Taylor Swift doesn't mind being under the public's microscope. She tells Australia's Herald Sun, "I'm never gonna have that moment when I lash out and scream and yell about the fact that people are watching me, because I asked for this life and this career." Taylor definitely isn't going to let others watching her every move influence her dating life. She reveals, "I never want to turn into that person who says to whoever I may be seeing or thinking about going on a date with: 'Let's not go to dinner in public tonight because that might get written about.' I don't want to let the fact that people are watching me change the course of my actions in relationships." Swift claims that even with her busy schedule she will find a way to fit in romance. The superstar shares, "There's always time! I'll make time for someone if I'm intrigued by them or I want to get to know them. I'm a hopeless romantic. I love the thought that love can happen in an instant and maintain itself and be a success story instead of a failure. I will find time for love if love is worth finding time for."
Taylor says when it comes to role models in love, she admires celebrity couple Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman. She explains, "Keith and Nicole have been wonderful to me. When I was touring with Keith, he would knock on my bus door, come and say hi and see how I was doing, or think of a song for us to play together that night." Swift continues, "Both of them have this natural friendliness and a natural kindness that I really love, and Nicole is one of the most beautiful people, inside and out ... They are shining lights in my life."

Tim's 'Blind Side' Character
Tim McGraw has said a lot of great things about his co-star Sandra Bullock's Oscar-nominated performance in The Blind Side. Now, not only is Sandra nominated for an Academy Award for the film, but the film itself, which features McGraw's portrayal of Sean Tuohy, Bullock's character's husband, is nominated for Best Picture.
As Tim shares, he drew from his real life wife to play the husband of such a strong character portrayed by Bullock: "My wife's very famous and very powerful and not only that -- she's a very confident, strong woman. So, I have lived a lot of those scenarios. I mean, she has her own mind and her own strength about her, and I have rolled my eyes," he laughs, "...been in some of those same… in different ways in some of those same situations. So, there are a lot of parallels that I drew upon in order to play that character and to find 'how can you be that guy? How can you show that character without it being one-dimensional?'"
Find out if McGraw's movie and his co-star are Oscar winners when The 82nd Annual Academy Awards airs March 7 on ABC. [For a LIST of Oscar nominations in the major categories, click here for Laurie Arbore's BLOG on the Wolf website!]

Rucker Loves Opening Slot
Darius Rucker says that after years of headlining with Hootie &The Blowfish, he loves opening for Rascal Flatts. Darius tells The Royal Oak Daily Tribune, "The coolest thing for me is just going out and being in sold-out arenas. It just feels so different not having to worry about ticket sales or any of that stuff. I'm loving it right now." And as for country music, Darius seems to know what it's all about. He says, "Country music's all about the song. I feel like if I give country radio great songs, they're gonna play 'em, whereas pop [stations] were always like, 'Chances are, I'm not gonna play your next record.'"
